Altonia Bryant
President
Altonia Bryant is the Assistant Director of Career Programming at the Office of Career Advancement at Rowan University. She received a Master of Arts in Arts Administration in 2019 from Rowan University and a Masters of Science in College Student Affairs in 2011 from Nova Southeastern University. With over 8 years of experience in the areas of career development, Altonia utilizes various career and student development theories to generate initiatives targeting career readiness for students of diverse populations. At Rowan University, ​Altonia assists students with identifying career pathways for their selected major while also providing them with the resources and tools needed to engage with employers while in a productive internship and/or job search. In addition, Altonia works collaboratively with various academic departments on campus to plan and execute career-related programming such as in-class presentations, industry nights, and career fairs. Furthermore, Altonia enjoys creating new and innovative programming that increase students’ skills, knowledge, and awareness about their professional career. Altonia was awarded the Student Centeredness Award, at Rowan University in April of 2023.
Altonia has presented at the National Career Development Association (NCDA) on job search strategies and how mental health can serve as a barrier to career persistence. She also presented at the American College Personnel Association​ (​ACPA​) and the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE) annual conferences, about the importance of engaging the next generation of college students, (GEN Z) in the workforce. ​In 2015, Altonia presented at the National Council on Black American Affairs Conference on her program initiative “College Road Trip: A Journey from College to Career.” This session focused on generating innovative and creative methods for developing comprehensive programming that addressed the needs of underrepresented students within Florida State Colleges. Outside of career development, Altonia has previous experience in the areas of Academic Advising, Orientation, Assessment, Recruitment, Student Life and Leadership, Testing, and Campus Event Planning.
